The Plumbing & Mechanical Association of Georgia (PMA) is a trade association comprised of plumbing & mechanical firms, and industry professionals who are working to meet the needs of Georgia's plumbing & mechanical industry. PMA has been representing the interests of the industry in Georgia since 1892. PMA is affiliated with the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors-National Association (PHCC).

The Plumbing & Mechanical Association of Georgia is dedicated to protecting the health and comfort of the public by promoting industry education and improving consumer relations with professionalism and integrity.

tate License Application - Keep a copy of everything for your records - Submit to state before deadline -- Remember application with the state is good for 2 years

What you need to send in:
• Send Original Application –must be Notarized With $ 30.00 application fee*
• Check or Money order Payable to: State Construction Industry Licensing Board
•Work Experience – Applicants for a Journeyman License must list at least 3 years of experience. Applicants for a Master License must list at lease 5 years experience, at least 2 years of which were as a licensed journeyman plumber
• If Master Plumber applicant MUST attach documentation of a current state issued journeyman license that has been active for at least 2 years or a master plumber license in another state
• Three (3) References from licensed plumbers, at least one being a licensed master plumber – must be Notarized
• Background Check – this can be obtained from your local law enforcement center

Georgia exams are computerized and are administered by AMP. This means in addition to applying to the State License Board to be eligible to take an exam, you will need to apply to AMP to take the test.

You must register with AMP approx. 45 days before test and pay the following fees: Journeyman Plumber - $ 196.00*, Master Plumber Class I - $ 233.00*, Master Plumber Class II - $ 233.00*

Prepare for Exam by taking a Plumbing Review Course. PMA offers review courses through out the calendar year. And will typically schedule a class two weeks prior to exam dates. PMA also offers in-house courses if you have six or more individuals taking the exam. Contact the office for more information.

--2006 International Gas Code w/ 2007, 2008 & 2009 GA International Gas Code Amendments
